- Images: redrawn with Canvas, so EXIF, GPS, camera tags and the colour profile are dropped. The picture is saved again, so a JPG is recompressed. GIF and BMP files become JPG, and an animated GIF keeps only its first frame.
- PDF: removes the document info fields (title, author, subject, keywords, producer, creator, dates) and the XMP metadata. Text on the pages can still name people, and some PDFs store extra data elsewhere.
- Audio: removes tags and embedded cover art with FFmpeg and copies the sound unchanged. If that fails, it re-encodes to MP3.

Files can carry hidden information: a photo can hold the camera model and the place it was taken, a PDF can hold the author name and the program that made it, and an audio file can hold tags and cover art. The cleaner removes that information and gives you a new copy.
