Do I need an account?
No. Open a tool and use it. Nothing here asks you to sign up or log in.
Where are my results stored?
In your browser, on this device. They are not sent to a server. They do not move to another browser or device, and clearing the site data removes them.
How is WPM calculated?
Correct characters divided by 5, divided by the minutes you typed. Five characters count as one word, which is a common convention in typing tests. The tools do not grade your speed as good or bad, so compare your result with your own earlier ones.
Where should I start?
If you are new to touch typing, start with the Typing Lessons and keep the Keyboard Guide open. If you already type without looking, take a speed test to see where you are, then use Typing Practice on the keys you miss.
Can I use a phone?
The pages open on a phone, but the tools are made for a physical keyboard, which is what touch typing trains.
Do the games count toward my progress?
Yes. Each finished game session is added to your history on the Typing Progress page.
