Good to know
  • The result is views ÷ 1,000 × RPM. It is only as good as the RPM you give it. This tool has no built-in rates for niches or countries, because they differ between channels and change through the year.
  • RPM is what you earn per 1,000 views after YouTube’s share. YouTube Studio shows it under Analytics, Revenue. If you know the CPM instead (what advertisers pay per 1,000 ad views), choose that option and add the share of views that show an ad.
  • YouTube’s standard share for the creator on long-form video ad revenue is 55%. Shorts use a different pool and share, so use your own Studio figures for those. Check YouTube Help for the current terms.
  • Only views that can earn count. Views on videos that are not monetized, or in a period before you joined the Partner Program, earn nothing, and some views never show an ad.
  • Income from sponsors, affiliate links and merchandise is not included. The other calculators on this site cover those.

About the YouTube Earnings Calculator

?What the earnings calculator does

It turns views into an estimate of ad income, or a money goal into the views needed to reach it. The sum is views ÷ 1,000 × RPM, where RPM is the income you earn per 1,000 views.

It has no built-in rates for niches or countries. Those rates differ from channel to channel, so you type your own RPM from YouTube Studio, or a CPM with the share of views that show an ad. Everything runs in your browser.

→How to estimate YouTube ad earnings in 4 steps

1

Choose what to work out

What a number of views would earn, or how many views a goal needs.

2

Enter the views or the goal

For views, say whether they are in total, per day or per month, so the tool can scale them up.

3

Give your rate

Use your RPM from Studio. If you only know a CPM, choose that and add the share of views that show an ad and the share you keep.

4

Read the result

You get the amount and, for daily or monthly views, what that pace would add up to over a longer time.

★Examples

1

Views to money

50,000 views at an RPM of 3.50.

Example:

50,000 ÷ 1,000 × 3.50 = 175.

2

A money goal

You want 500 and your RPM is 4.

Example:

500 ÷ 4 × 1,000 = 125,000 views.

3

Starting from a CPM

CPM 6, 60% of views show an ad, you keep 55%.

Example:

RPM = 6 × 0.60 × 0.55 = 1.98, so 50,000 views earn about 99.
