What this test measures
Words per minute here is a timed pass on a passage, with accuracy. Length options from one to five minutes change how much fatigue you see; a one-minute sprint is not the same as a five-minute script. Creator mode uses creator-shaped text so you are not only hitting short dictionary words.
WPM formulas differ between sites (with or without spaces, how errors count). Compare this number to this number over time, not to a screenshot from another tutor. We do not sell certificates and we do not proctor a job exam.
How to take it so the number means something
- Use a real keyboard, sitting the way you write.
- Do not retake immediately on the same passage to “beat” muscle memory of that paragraph.
- Prefer accuracy in the mid-90s. A sloppy 80 WPM is not faster work than a clean 60.
- Once a week is enough while you are in lessons. Daily tests starve practice time.
Rough orientation, not a promise: many people sit near 40 WPM; 60–80 with high accuracy is a comfortable creator work rate. Your job does not care if you are 110 on a memorized quote.
Train in lessons and practice. Read the typing guide if you want the longer version.
