  • YouTube’s banner size, safe area and file limit can change. Check YouTube Help for the current numbers before you upload.

About the YouTube Banner Creator

?What the banner creator does

It is a simple editor for a 2560 × 1440 YouTube channel banner. You put your channel name and a line of text on a color or on your own image, check how it will look on different screens, and download a PNG or JPG.

It shows a yellow box for the area that every device displays, and four small previews of the strips that a TV, a desktop, a tablet and a phone usually show. The guides appear only while you edit.

Everything happens in your browser. Your image is not uploaded, nothing is saved, and there is no watermark.

★Examples

1

A name and a tagline on a color

Pick Midnight, then edit the two lines of text.

Example:

The channel name “Sam’s Kitchen” with the tagline “New recipes every Friday” sits in the middle of the safe area, so it shows on a phone.

2

Text on a photo

Upload a wide photo and darken it by 35 to 50 percent.

Example:

A kitchen photo with light text over a darkened middle is easier to read than the same text on the bright photo.

3

Checking a crop

Look at the phone preview before you download.

Example:

If a word is cut off in the phone preview, move it toward the center or make the text smaller.
