YouTube SEO Analyzer
Check a title, description and tags against YouTube limits and see where your search phrase appears. No score.
Optional. One phrase, in the words a viewer would type.
0 / 100 characters
0 / 5,000 characters
0 / 500 characters, counting commas
Type or paste a title, description or tags to check them. Fields you leave empty are skipped.
Good to know
- This checker has no score. Nobody outside YouTube knows how much a title, description or tag weighs in ranking, so a number would be invented. It reports what it can verify: YouTube’s limits, and whether your phrase is where viewers will see it.
- The phrase check compares text only. It does not know how many people search for your phrase or how many videos compete for it.
- Thumbnails, titles that match what people want, and how long viewers keep watching matter more than metadata. Treat this as a final proofread, not a way to improve rank.
- YouTube’s own guidance says tags play a small part in how videos are found, mainly for common misspellings. Do not spend long on them.

About the YouTube SEO Analyzer
?What the metadata checker does
You paste a title, a description and tags, and optionally the phrase you want people to search for. The tool checks them against YouTube’s limits and tells you where your phrase is, in three groups: things to fix, things to check, and things that are fine.
It gives no score. Nobody outside YouTube knows how much each part of the metadata counts for ranking, so a score would be made up. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent to our server.

Limit checks
Title length, description length, tag characters and hashtag count against YouTube’s limits.
Phrase placement
Whether your phrase is in the title, in the first 150 characters of the description, and in the tags.
Chapter check
If the description has a chapter list, it is checked against YouTube’s chapter rules.
Stuffing warning
Flags a phrase repeated so often that it reads badly.

You see exactly what was found, not a number.

★Examples
A long title
A title of 78 characters.
Example:
It is under the 100 limit, but marked Check because anything past about 60 may be cut off in search.
Too many hashtags
A description with 18 hashtags.
Example:
Marked Fix: YouTube ignores all hashtags when there are more than 15.
Phrase in the wrong place
The phrase appears only in the last paragraph of the description.
Example:
Marked Check: viewers see only the first 150 characters before “more”.
♥Limits to know about
Not a ranking predictor
It cannot tell you where a video will appear in search.
No search data
It does not know how many people search for your phrase.
Limits can change
Check YouTube Help if a limit seems different from what the tool says.
