What do you want viewers to do?

Choose one or more. Ask for one thing at a time in the video.

Only if it is true. Used in the Subscribe lines.

Used in the Watch next lines.

Used in the Link lines.

Your lines

Edit any line in place. The time is how long it takes to say.

Subscribe

Say it after you have given the viewer something useful, not in the first seconds.

  • about 4 seconds to say

Comment

Ask one specific question near the end, so the viewer has something to answer.

  • about 5 seconds to say

  • about 4 seconds to say

Before you film
  • Ask for one thing at a time. A single clear request works better than a list of three.
  • Do not offer something in return for a like, subscribe or comment that you will not give. Do not ask viewers to do things that are against YouTube’s rules.
  • Say it in your own words and keep it short. If it sounds like a script, rewrite it.
  • Only mention a schedule you really keep, and only point to a video or link that exists.
  • To show a video or a subscribe button on screen, you set up an end screen in YouTube Studio. The End Screen Planner helps you plan its timing.

About the Call-to-Action Generator

?What the CTA generator does

You pick what you want viewers to do: subscribe, like, comment, watch another video, use a link in the description, or share. The tool gives you short spoken lines for each, and a note on where in the video that request fits best.

The lines are templates filled with the details you type. It never invents a schedule, a video title or a link. If you leave a detail empty, lines that need it are left out. It does not use YouTube data or a language model.

Everything runs in your browser. What you type is not sent to our server.

→How to write a call to action in 3 steps

1

Choose your goals

Subscribe and Comment are on by default. Add or remove goals. Asking for one thing at a time works best in the video itself.

2

Add your details

All optional: the topic, your channel name, how often you post, the title of your next video, and what your description link is. Only add a schedule if it is true.

3

Edit, check the time, and copy

Change any line so it sounds like you. Each shows about how many seconds it takes to say. Copy one line or all of them.

✓What is in the tool

Six goals

Subscribe, like, comment, watch next, link in description, and share.

Your details only

Schedule, next video and link lines appear only when you fill them in.

Where to say it

A short note for each goal on where in the video the request fits.

Spoken time

Shows about how long each line takes to say.

Editable lines

Each line is a text box you can rewrite in your own words.

No promises

No claims about conversion rates, because a template cannot predict them.

★Examples

1

Asking for a subscribe

Add your posting schedule if it is true.

Example:

Schedule “every Friday” gives “I post new videos every Friday. Subscribe so you do not miss the next one.”.

2

Sending viewers to another video

Type the title of your next video.

Example:

Next video “Five-ingredient dinners” gives “Watch Five-ingredient dinners next. It is on the screen now.”.

3

Pointing to a link

Say what the link is.

Example:

Link “my shopping list” gives “I put my shopping list in the description. The link is below this video.”.

♥Limits to know about

✓

Templates, not research

The tool does not know your audience or which requests work for your channel.

✓

End screens are separate

Showing a video or a subscribe button on screen is set up in YouTube Studio, not in this tool.

✓

Keep it honest

Only promise what you will deliver, and follow YouTube’s rules.
