YouTube Script Generator
Plan a YouTube script: set your video length and main points, get timed sections with word budgets, and write under each heading. Free, no signup.
Leave empty to use a simple set of sections for the video type.
Enter what your video is about to see a timed plan.
Before you film
- The tool plans the structure and the time. The words are yours, so write what you know and what you can show.
- Times are a plan. Pauses, demos and b-roll change the real length, so read the script aloud with a timer.
- Write for the ear, not the page. Short sentences are easier to say.
- Open with the hook, not with a long channel introduction.
- Copy the script into your notes app or teleprompter. Nothing is saved here, and it is gone when you close the page.

About the Video Script Generator
?What the script generator does
You give a topic, a length, and optionally your main points. The tool lays out a script plan: a hook, an intro, a section for each point, a recap, and a call to action. Each section gets a start time and a word budget for the length you chose.
It does not write your script and does not use a language model. You write the words under each heading, and the tool keeps count of words and time as you go.
Everything runs in your browser. What you type is not sent to our server.
→How to plan a script in 4 steps
Enter the topic and length
A short phrase for the topic, and the length of the finished video in minutes.
Choose the video type and list your points
Type one main point per line. If you leave them empty, the tool uses a simple set of sections for the type you chose.
Pick what to include
Turn the hook, recap and call to action on or off. Short videos skip the intro and recap automatically.
Write under each heading, then copy
Each section shows its start time and about how many words fit. The check at the bottom compares what you wrote with the plan. Copy the whole script with its times.
✓What is in the tool
Timed sections
Every section has a start time and a length, based on the video length you set.
Word budgets
About 150 words a minute, shown for each section and for the whole video.
Your points
Each point you list becomes a section, and time is shared between them evenly.
Write in place
Type your script under each heading and see the word count update.
Length check
Warns when your script runs well over the plan, or when the points are too many for the length.
Copy with times
Copies the script with a start time for each section, handy for chapters later.
★Examples
An 8-minute tutorial with three points
Topic “healthy meal prep”, three points, hook, recap and call to action on.
Example:
The plan is Hook 0:00 (15 seconds), What this video covers 0:15, three sections of about 2 minutes 18 seconds each starting at 0:35, 2:53 and 5:11, Recap 7:30, and Call to action 7:45. The total is about 1,200 words.
A short 2-minute video
Short videos skip the intro and recap so the points get the time.
Example:
A 2-minute video with two points gets a 15-second hook, two sections of about 45 seconds each, and a 15-second call to action.
Checking your draft against the plan
Paste your draft under the headings and read the check.
Example:
If you wrote 1,800 words for a plan of 1,200, the tool shows that it is longer than the plan, so you can cut it or raise the video length.
♥Limits to know about
It plans, you write
The tool gives structure and timing, not content, research or facts.
Times are estimates
Pace, pauses, demos and b-roll all change the real length of a video.
