Your end screen plan
Starts at 9:45 and runs 15 seconds to 10:00.
Where it sits in the video
A layout to start from
A sketch, not a preview of your video. In Studio you can move and resize each element.
Checks
- OK: 3 elements, within Studio’s limit of 4.
- OK: About 38 spoken words fit in 15 seconds. Need lines to say? Try the CTA Generator.
- Note: Leave the area under the elements free of important footage.
Before you add it in Studio
- This tool plans the end screen. It does not add anything to your video. You add the elements in YouTube Studio, on the video’s Editor page, under End screen.
- YouTube’s rules (a video of at least 25 seconds, an end screen of 5 to 20 seconds, up to four elements) can change. Check YouTube Help before you rely on them.
- Film the last seconds with room for the elements. Say what you want viewers to do next, in the same order as the elements on screen.
- The layouts are suggestions. In Studio you can move and resize each element.
- Elements can look small on a phone, so keep the plan simple.

About the End Screen Planner
?What the end screen planner does
You enter the length of your video and how long the end screen should run, then choose a layout. The tool gives you the start time to use in YouTube Studio, a timeline, a rough sketch of the elements, and a check against YouTube’s rules.
It plans, but it does not add anything to your video or connect to your channel. You add the end screen in YouTube Studio yourself.
Everything runs in your browser. What you type is not sent to our server.
→How to plan an end screen in 4 steps
Enter the video length
Use minutes and seconds, like 8:30, or hours like 1:05:00. A plain number counts as seconds.
Set the end screen length
Between 5 and 20 seconds. Pick enough time to say one next step.
Choose a layout
Two videos and subscribe, one video, a playlist, subscribe only, or four elements. Use the sketch as a starting point.
Add it in Studio
Copy the plan, open the video in YouTube Studio, go to the Editor, and add the elements from the start time shown.

Example:
The end screen starts at 9:45 and runs 15 seconds to 10:00, with two videos and a subscribe button.
A short video

A series
Choose the playlist layout.
Example:

♥Limits to know about
It plans, you place
The tool does not add elements to your video. You do that in YouTube Studio.
Rules can change
The numbers come from YouTube’s guidance, so check YouTube Help.
A sketch is a sketch
The layout is a rough guide, not a preview of your video.
