Enter views, likes and comments to see the engagement rate.
Good to know
- Engagement rate here is (likes + comments + shares) ÷ views × 100. It counts the share of views that came with a visible action. It says nothing about how long people watched.
- There is no good or bad number. Rates differ a lot between kinds of videos and audiences, so the fair comparison is with your own earlier videos. Add some below.
- Shares are in YouTube Studio under Analytics, Engagement. If you do not have them, leave the box empty and the rate counts likes and comments only.
- A like count can be hidden on some videos, and views take time to be fully counted, so a very new video can give a jumpy rate.

About the Engagement Rate Calculator
?What the engagement rate calculator does
It works out the share of a video's views that came with a like, a comment or a share. The formula is (likes + comments + shares) ÷ views × 100, and the tool shows each part as well as the total.
It does not grade the result. Whether a rate is high depends on your audience and the kind of video, so the tool lets you add your earlier videos and compares with them. Everything runs in your browser.
